First Aid Training
OR
Sport Injury Prevention and Care
All coaches must complete their first aid training OR the Sport Injury Prevention and Care (SIPAC) Workshop.
Each year the SCA will offer the Sport Injury Prevention And Care (SIPAC) Workshop to members, but ultimately it is the responsibility of the coach to ensure they have completed the appropriate training.
The SCA hosts annual FREE SIPAC workshops to SCA members. This training is provided to us by the Sport Medicine & Science Council of Saskatchewan (SMSCS) and is a 7-hour classroom course with content that deals with sport specific issues. The SCA will offer the training as soon as it is available.
NOTE: The SCA requires that all certified coaches retake the SIPAC workshop every three years.
Upcoming Clinics
SIPAC workshops are also available through the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan. Teams, schools and clubs can make arrangements to host a SIPAC course and can invite any coaches to participate. Please visit www.smscs.ca for more information.
