What is Team Sask Youth Cheer?
Team Sask Youth Cheer is Saskatchewan’s provincial developmental cheer team for athletes ages 12–14, designed to introduce young athletes to the high-performance Team Sask pathway while building skills, confidence, and connections with athletes from across the province.
The program brings together athletes from different clubs and communities to train as one team in a unique ICU division. Through training camps and team activities, athletes develop cheerleading skills, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship while gaining experience in a provincial team environment.
The inaugural season was a great success, with athletes representing Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Grand Coulee, Yorkton, Martensville, and Humboldt. This excellent provincial representation allowed athletes from all corners of Saskatchewan to come together, build friendships, and create a strong sense of community while participating in a unique opportunity not available through their local programs.
The SCA is currently working with coaching staff to enhance and expand the program for the upcoming season. We are excited to continue developing this pathway and creating meaningful opportunities for young athletes interested in representing Saskatchewan.
Tryouts for the 2026–2027 season are expected to take place in July. Check back soon for updated program information and registration details.
