The SCA offers high-quality cheer coaches’ training and cheer coaches’ certification.  The training clinics are optional and range from Cheer level 1 up to Cheer level 4. In these clinics, coaches will learn the fundamentals of teaching level specific stunt and tumbling skills, while gaining insight to questions they may be asked during their practical exams.  With our high-quality instructor, Carley Weisbeck, and an elite team of athletes, coaches are sure to learn safe, effective teaching methodologies for all levels of cheer.  The SCA recommends attending the clinics for each level of exam a coach may be challenging.

Practical (hands-on) exam certifications will be scheduled during the coaches’ clinics with a separate examiner.  Coaches will receive an email with their scheduled exam time(s).  Each exam is given a thirty-minute time slot. Coaches must certify by progression, meaning they must be successful at level 1 prior to proceeding to level 2 certification, and so on.  A combination of exams may be purchased.  If a coach is required to pass a lower level exam prior to a higher level exam and is unsuccessful, a refund shall be given for any incomplete exams.  Coaches who are attending a clinic will be scheduled for their exam(s) following the clinics.

All coaches (cheer and dance) must complete their first aid training, with the minimum requirement being “sport first aid”.  This year SCA will provide FREE sport first aid training to SCA members.
